NHS70 Parliamentary Awards, in association with IBM and Teva
In July 2018, the NHS celebrated its 70th birthday. Working with a wide range of partners, NHS England and NHS Improvement marked the milestone in a variety of ways.
As a key part of this activity, the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards had been established to engage MPs in celebrating 70 years of the NHS, identifying and highlighting innovative and high-quality care across every constituency in England, and thanking staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment by recognising and honouring their achievements. The NHS70 Parliamentary Awards provided an excellent opportunity for health and care organisations to engage with their local MPs, tell them about the work they do, and build or strengthen ongoing relationships.
The NHS70 Parliamentary Awards were launched by Dr Sarah Wollaston MP, Chair of the Commons Health Select Committee, in Parliament on Wednesday 7th February and nominations for the Awards closed on Friday 23 March.
Local and regional NHS England and Improvement teams had chosen one team or individual in each category to go forward to the national shortlist, where they had been assessed by a high-level national judging panel. The winners, as selected by this panel, have been announced at an awards ceremony in Parliament on Wednesday 4th July – the day before the NHS’ 70th birthday.
