Dr Hanumantha (Rao) Gattamaneni MBBS; MD; FRCR - consultant clinical oncologist at The Christie.
Since 1976, Dr Gattamaneni’s pioneering work has revolutionised the treatment of childhood cancers. Specialising in sarcoma, neuro-oncology and late effects, he established the multi-disciplinary team approach in paediatric oncology, delivered clinical trials benefiting patients worldwide, and published in over 50 academic journals. A passionate advocate of the patient-centred approach, he was ahead of his time in championing dedicated cancer services for young people and instrumental in making The Christie’s Teenage and Young Adult service one of the best in the country.
